Digi in Deep!

WOOT! WOOT! Our Digi in Deep class over at JessicaSprague.com started today...and let me tell you! Are we ever in deep! 38 layers deep! Can you imagine? And it's only a one page layout! I can't even begin to imagine how many layers it would have if it had been a two page spread - YIKES!

Here it is:

The first of the Digi in Deep layouts. Pics are from 2006 when the children and I went out to spend a few days with my parents in Lawrencetown, NS. In case you're wondering, the quote on the left is by e.e. cummings and says "for whatever we lose (like a you or a me) it is always our self we find in the sea" and the journaling on the left says: It was only four days, but it felt more like four weeks. That’s the way it always feels whenever we are on the east coast. Everyone and everything moves at a slower pace and we just seem to relax that little bit more. As for me? It’s really all about the lobster!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have an awesome week planned!

That Radiothon Layout wasn't speaking to me...

...so you get this instead...

These pics were taken in the hotel the weekend Scott and I went to Montreal while the kids were away for Spring Break. Luxury doesn't even begin to describe it...

I'll try to get to the Radiothon pics this week.

Thanks for stopping in!

Still too tired...

...working on a Digi Layout of the radiothon to get up here, but it's not working the way I want it to...

So, I'll leave you with this pic that I took at the end of the radiothon:

Yep! That's right! Over the course of three days $3,982,211 was raised for the hospital for Sick Children. How AWESOME is that???

I'll do my best to get some LO's done over the next week or so and get them up for your viewing pleasure.

Until then, thanks for stopping in!

I smile

Count 'em up people! Count 'em up! Oh wait...you can't - LOL! I had to flatten the image and resize it for web viewing, but the official count is 27 layers...there would have been 5 more for a total count of 32, but I merged the layers used for the title.

More pics from the trip DH and I took to San Francisco in January...for a change, there are pics of me! How cool is that??? I handed the camera over to DH and let him snap away...O.K., some of them are posed, but whatever! There are pics of me and that's what counts!

Tomorrow, we are off to the Hospital for Sick Children for the annual Sick Kids Radiothon. It's being broadcast live from the Sick Kids Atrium on Mix FM 99.9, CFRB 1010, and EZ Rock 97.3 You should listen...you REALLY should...and if you can afford to give, you REALLY should! Even if you don't have children, you know someone who does...I can't imagine what MY life would be like if the hospital wasn't there. They saved two of my children and are pioneering research EVERY DAY that could cure the heart conditions that both of them have. So give, PLEASE.

Tomorrow (if I'm not TOO tired) or Saturday (if I am), I'll post radiothon pics. Don't forget to listen...we'll be on CFRB 1010 at about 10:50 a.m. and on Mix 99.9 at about 11:30 a.m. And if you're so inclined, listen just after 6 p.m. too! That's when they announce the total donated over the three day period. Last year, it was $3.7 million...this year, I'm hoping it's over $4 million!

Thanks for stopping in today! Have a stellar weekend!

More stuff coming soon...

My apologies for the lack of creativity on the blog these days...

Not to worry...I am still happy!

I've been working on a layout from "Now we're rocking with Photoshop" and I'm only half way through it...it already has 21 layers - YIKES!

My goal is to get that finished today and uploaded for you...

On another note...the Sick Kids radiothon started today. Go here and donate if you can. Every little bit helps!

And remember, I'll be there with kids in tow on Friday participating in the radiothon once again (just as we did last year). We'll be on CFRB 1010 at 10:50 a.m. and on Mix 99.9 at 11:30 a.m. Remember, the goal is to beat last year's total of just over $3.7 million!

Thanks for stopping in today!

YIKES!

Registration for Digi in Deep at JessicaSprague.com started yesterday. I registered today...

This layout is from Week 2 of Now We're Rockin' with Photoshop...ummm...I'm a little behind.

This is NOT a good thing! That means I have to get through 2 weeks of full blown assignments, two weeks of 30 minute challenges and two weeks of mid-week assignments from NWR in order to be even REMOTELY ready for DID - YIKES! Don't think I'll be getting a whole lot of sleep this week...

And while I'm trying to find time to create, the kids are off tomorrow (Easter Monday) and Friday (reporting to parents day at school).

Add to that...I will be at Sick Kids (with 3 kids and one friend) in tow on Friday for the annual Sick Kids radiothon...not only will I be there, I'll be on the radio! Listen if you have a few spare minutes. I'll be on CFRB 1010 at 10:50 a.m. and Mix 99.9 at 11:30 a.m. (or thereabouts). If you're reading from somewhere OTHER than Toronto...those are both Toronto radio stations...you can listen online too!

Here's the layout I did from last year's radiothon...I can't wait to do it again!

Thanks for stopping in!

Down by the Bay

As you've read, I've been catching up with my online photoshop classes, taught by the lovely and talented Jessica Sprague. The above layout was completed using her video instructions for week 2 of "Now we're rocking with Photoshop". We learned LOTS of hot keys, how to recolour overlays, how to build that circular photo collage (easy with a clipping template!) and how to make reverse type (white type on black strips) so it kind of looks like you used a Dymo label and affixed it to your LO. Drop shadows are my friend - LOL!

Pics are from the trip DH and I took to San Francisco in January of this year...I SO wanna go back!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Coming Home...

So, yesterday I mentionned the lovely and talented Jessica Sprague...did I mention how much I love her? She single handedly sucked me into the digi world...and I'm thrilled about that!

On her site, Liv posts weekly challenges... since I haven't scrapped a darn thing in months, I'm a little behind...The challenge for the first week of March was to partially hide text behind an object/person. I did that yesterday with the "Today" that was partially hidden behind DH's shoulder.

The challenge for the second week was to take inspiration from a designer. Liv chooses the designer and this month it was none other than Jessica Sprague! We used Jessica's papers and had to follow the theme "Home".

I chose these pics from a recent trip Scott and I took to Montreal. What with the roller coaster ride of the past few months, it's good to be home.

Thanks for visiting today! Hope you are all having an AWESOME week!

Today...

Last week I did some paper scrapping and today I did some Digi work! What fun...I need to brush up on my digi knowledge as the wonderful and talented Jessica Sprague is offering her third online Photoshop class titled "Digi: In Deep". I'm a little out of practice, so I need to work on it for a little bit as the course starts on March 31st - YIKES!

Have a GREAT day!

In order to create...one must be truly happy...

...which means, I guess, that I really haven't been all that happy lately...

My closest friends know that I have been on one heck of a roller coaster for quite some time and that the ride hasn't been pretty at all times...

Throughout the ride, I've neglected friendships and those who are most dear to me...not the smartest thing to do when you are on such an unpleasant ride...you should really hang on to those friends, because (and trust me on this one), you SO need them...

I haven't created a thing in over 2 months...not digital, not paper, not cards...not a thing.

The roller coaster ride came to an end on Saturday...whew! What a ride! I got off at the right place and for the first time in a long time...I was happy!

I used a Brenda Arnall pattern and completed a one page layout and almost completed (needs title/journaling) two 2-page layouts.

Yesterday, I finished putting together an album kit that I started back in January and the plan for the next few weeks is to put together an album of a trip to San Francisco that DH and I took in January.

That will have to wait, because right now we're planning a trip to Montreal...before that though, I need to get the kids to my sister's (DD) and my parents (both DS) tomorrow...

I'll share what I created soon!
